The sensitivity is factory preset at an optimum level for general security use at airports etc. However sensitivity may be easily adjusted (increased) to meet the specific requirements of the operator.

The MF1 has a unique high-pitched easily discernible audio alarm signal. In addition the normally green flashing LED turns to a solid red (not flashing) providing a visual indication a metal target is present. 

Pinpoint

The sharp response of the MF1 makes pinpointing a metal object fast and efficient.

With the optional earphone the MF1 will operate in silent mode allowing for discrete target recognition. A person under surveillance will not hear the alarm as the internal speaker is muted. The visual alarm is also inhibited.

The MF1 automatically recalibrates itself on start up, making the MF1 one of the worlds easiest to use and most sensitive security scanners. Just switch the unit on and it’s ready to go. 

The unique noise cancel function will switch the unit to a separate operating frequency to overcome or prevent interference from local electrical equipment.

The MF1 has been designed to give maximum efficiency from a 9-volt battery. The low power drain of the detector means the detector will operate longer in the field.

It is almost impossible to insert the battery around the wrong way. However if this should occur the MF1 has special circuitry to protect itself from any damage caused by wrong battery polarity. The unit will simply not work until the battery is withdrawn and refitted in the right direction.

Low battery power is indicated when normally green LED stops flashing. When this occurs the battery should be replaced or recharged.

The 3-position switch allows the detector to be switched on for Continuous Operation or may be switched to Momentary Operation; this mode will further save on battery life without compromising sensitivity or performance. The centre switch position switches the detector off.

For operating the unit close to the ground (where metal reinforcing is present) or near large metal objects, in order to prevent false signalling there is an instantaneous low sensitivity button. To lower the sensitivity simply press the sensitivity button using your thumb. The MF1’s preset sensitivity is immediately restored the instant the button is released.
